Titanium dioxide(TiO2)
Titanium dioxide, an inorganic compound, chemical formula for TiO2, is a white solid or powdered amphoteric oxide, molecular weight 79.866, with non-toxic, has the best opacity, the best whiteness, and brightness, and is considered to be the world's best performance of white pigment. Titanium white has strong adhesion, is not easy to change chemically, and is always white. Widely used in coating, plastic, paper, printing ink, chemical fiber, rubber, cosmetics, and other industries. It has a very high melting point and is also used to make refractory glass, glazes, enamel, clay, and high temperature-resistant experimental vessels. Titanium dioxide can be extracted from rutile by acid decomposition or obtained from titanium tetrachloride decomposition. Titanium dioxide exists in nature in three allotropic forms: rutile, anatase, and plate titanium, in addition to several synthetic crystal forms.
